The January ski trip is just a month away and we're starting to fill up, but there's still room if you're interested. Take a look, and hope you can join us !

Friday, January 16 - Monday, January 19, 2009 (Martin Luther King Holiday weekend)
The Lodge has beds for 30. The cost per person this year is $110 - still a bargain for three nights and five meals. :) The outing organizers provide food and planning for the meals (Sat. breakfast & dinner, Sun. Breakfast & Dinner, & Mon. breakfast), and preparation is a group effort by volunteers.

Boealps Waterfall Ice Climbing Seminar to be held in Lillooet, B.C. January 31, Feb 1 !!!
Cost: $50 plus your expenses in carpooling, hotel, and food. A shared hotel room should cost no more than $40 per night.
Class will be limited to 8 participants.

Boealps 2008 BCC graduate and professional outdoor photographer
Brad Gibson
will be hosting a beginner SLR photography class through the Art Wolfe Gallery (another Boealps BCC graduate !) in February/March 2009.
The 6-week course is scheduled to begin on Tuesday February 3rd, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Art Wolfe Gallery. Cost of the class is $395, but Boealps members can get 25% discount (call Julie Sotomura 206-332-0993 to take advantage of this offer) !!! Class is limited to 12 students so sign up early !

Backcountry Skiing Seminar! |

This winter will see the return of the backcountry skiing seminar! This year's seminar will focus on giving the intermediate to advanced level lift-serviced skier or snowboarder with no previous backcountry skiing experience the knowledge, skills and techniques they need to take their skiing away from the crowded resorts and into the backcountry. Don't know how ski touring bindings or climbing skins work? Come find out how this equipment can help you get more out of your winter! Details are included in the attached flyer.
An avalanche awareness course is required and a Level 1 Avalanche course is recommended for this seminar. A list of avalanche classes offered in the area prior to the start of this seminar is included in the attachment. If you have already taken a course, you can register for the seminar right away! If not, look over the course list and sign up for one ASAP if you would like to register for the seminar.
